1st day of school pictures...FINALLY!

So, with my crazy life right now, by the time I get to blogging, I just am too tired. But today I decided to do some of it...Thanks to Buddy for telling me how to add the blog list link so I don't spend quite so much time surfing! So here are the much anticipated (I'm sure!) pictures! Here's Gemma...a big 6th grader! Here's Amy...going into 3rd. Here's Nicholas...1st grade. And Austin in Preschool 2 days a week!

First day of school

The kids went back to school today...pictures to come...but with school comes the necessary evil: School Projects! They are starting already! Are you kidding me?! I am not a scrapbooker and Amy gets to make 2 pages all about her. (Did I mention that everyone in this school goes WAY over the top when it comes to anything?) Wish me luck with all of the projects!

Slacker, but there is a true Jedi in the house!

I have been a HUGE slacker on my blog...Too much sun, kids and work going on! Kids head back to school next week, so hopefully I can find some time to update! A whole summer worth...probably I should take it in small chunks!!! Here's a tidbit from Nicholas:

Nicholas had some friends over one Saturday. As I am in the kitchen I hear from the other room a light saber battle going on. (I need to give a little background here!) In Sunday School Nicholas' teacher asked the kids to tell her things about their dad's. All the comments came home in a cup that said #1 Dad! There were the usual...plays with me etc, but one of the comments said "My dad is a true Jedi" wonder who said that?!

So Nicholas and Logan (who was in the said Sunday School class) are having a light saber battle with Shane. Next thing I hear is from Logan..."Nicholas, you weren't lying. You're dad is a true Jedi!" Can you just hear the conversation that was going on in class when Nicholas announced to a class of 10 boys his dad is a true Jedi?!

Obviously we like Star Wars!

Currently the favorite is the Olympics and wondering whether they are going to the Olympics for track or swimming?!

Family Pictures

Shane was in Dallas and got to see some of our good friends from college...HOOK 'EM! While they were checking out our blog, I realized how few family pictures I had put up...So in honor of the Dendy's, here's some! BTW...Amy's toe is great! It healed great and the scar isn't that bad!

Update and stitches

So, it's been a while since I really wrote anything about what's going on here, so here goes!

About 6 weeks ago, Shane was called into his boss and they decided to lay him off...Start up company's will do that to you! It was a bit of a shock, but overall it is for the best. The guy Shane worked for was not a nice guy...even to his best friends he would scream and use offensive language at the office. Shane was in the process of finding something else, but they beat him to the punch! SOOOOO we had to figure out plan B and why we were sent to Austin, because we both felt very strongly about the move here and the way our house sold etc. we felt very led by the hand of God.

Through his service at church, Shane met a guy who was in the same situation as him and was looking for something new. Darren found a travel magazine for sale. After Darren decided not to pursue it, Shane and I decided to look at it. The magazine is called TravelHost and is in many hotel rooms around the country. They invited us to Dallas to meet with the company and see if we were a good match for them and if they were a good match for us....Here's where stitches comes in!

The younger 3 kids stayed with a good friend here while we went. (Gemma was with a friend.) We were on the road about 35 minutes when we get a call that Amy had dropped a glass bowl on her foot and they were headed to the urgent care to get stitches. Bless her heart, there is Tonya with 7 kids ranging from 2-9! Luckily there was no one at the urgent care and they had a play room with toys and movies, but it took 3 hours anyway! So Amy got 5 stitches in her big toe...here's a picture.

Problem was she had a dance recital in 3 days! I'll post video of that later! Just look for the blue on her foot in that one!

ANYWAY! We met with the company and it went really well. We went home and did some praying and decided to invest in the magazine. Revenue comes from ad sales, but we have a large area from Georgtown north to San Marcos south...with outlet malls on both ends, a number of Universities and TONS of good places to eat! The part Shane is excited about is the press pass!

So we are on a new adventure to put together a magazine...with tons of help from the company! If you stay in a hotel in Austin after the fall, look for our magazine...Shane listed as the Associate Publisher and Jenn as "Assistant to the Regional Manager"!!!! :)
